Understanding You

A nurse-led group education series on menstrual cycle health

What is Understanding You?

Understanding You is a small-group education series designed to give you something most women never receive - a clear, honest, and practical understanding of your own body.

Over five weekly sessions throughout September, a registered nurse will guide you through the fundamentals of menstrual cycle health, what your hormones are actually doing, how your gut health, nervous system, diet, and lifestyle all play a role, and how to start supporting yourself in ways that actually make a difference.

This is not a generic wellness programme. It is nurse-led, evidence-informed, and built around real conversation in a small group of just five women, where every question is welcome and nothing is too basic or too complicated to explore.

Who is this for?

Understanding You is for you if:

  • You have always felt confused or undereducated about your menstrual cycle

  • Your symptoms: pain, fatigue, mood changes, bloating, irregularity where you feel unpredictable and unmanaged

  • You have been told your symptoms are normal but suspect there is more to the story

  • You want to understand how stress, food, and lifestyle connect to your hormonal health

  • You are looking for support and community alongside the education

  • You want accessible, expert-led guidance without the cost of a 1:1 programme

What's included

Five weekly live sessions via Zoom
Five live group sessions throughout September, each covering a core area of cycle and hormonal health. Sessions are interactive, conversational, and designed to leave you with tools and understanding you can apply immediately.

Group chat access throughout the month
Between sessions, you will have access to a dedicated group chat where you can ask questions, share experiences, and feel supported. This is an active, nurse-moderated space where your questions will be answered and your experiences acknowledged.

A thorough understanding of all four cycle phases
You will leave with a clear picture of what your body is doing in each phase of your cycle — and exactly how to support yourself through each one.

Ongoing nurse-led review and support
Throughout the month, your progress and questions are actively supported. This is not a drop-in class — it is a joined-up month of education, reflection, and practical guidance.

What we cover

Session 1 — Your hormones and your cycle
An introduction to what hormones actually are, how and why they play such a fundamental role in your menstrual cycle, and how the lifestyle choices you make every day — sleep, movement, stress, and diet directly influence your hormonal health. This session lays the foundation for everything that follows.

Session 2 — Gut health, nutrition, and your cycle
The relationship between your gut and your menstrual health is one of the most underestimated connections in women's health. This session covers why a healthy gut matters for hormonal balance, why nutrition is so vital, and how certain foods actively support or disrupt your hormones and blood sugar stability throughout the month.

Session 3 — Stress and your cycle
Stress is one of the most significant, and most overlooked, drivers of menstrual cycle difficulties. This session explores exactly how stress affects your hormones, why your nervous system and your cycle are in constant conversation, and practical, evidence-informed regulation strategies you can start using straight away.

Session 4 — Your cycle phases: menstruation and the follicular phase
The first of two sessions dedicated to the four phases of your cycle. We begin with menstruation, what is actually happening in your body, why symptoms occur, and how to support yourself through this phase — before moving into the follicular phase, the season of renewal, rising energy, and fresh possibility.

Session 5 — Your cycle phases: ovulation and the luteal phase
We complete the cycle. Ovulation — your peak phase of energy, confidence, and connection — and the luteal phase, the often misunderstood final chapter of your cycle that holds so many of the answers to why you feel the way you do in the days before your period. This session brings everything together and leaves you with a complete, practical picture of your cycle from start to finish.

Why Understanding You?

Most women are taught very little about their menstrual cycle. What they are taught is often incomplete, oversimplified, or focused entirely on reproduction rather than overall health and wellbeing.

The result is a generation of women who have been managing their symptoms in silence — often for years — without the knowledge, language, or tools to understand what their body is telling them.

Understanding You exists to change that. In a small, safe, and supportive group, you will gain the clarity and confidence to finally understand yourself — and to take meaningful steps toward feeling better in your own body.

Because you deserve to understand you.

Ready to join?

Spaces are strictly limited to five women per cohort to ensure the group remains intimate, supportive, and genuinely valuable for every participant.
